Junior DJ Robinson (W, 1-0) dominated the visiting Redmen of Parma striking out 14 while walking four in six strong innings to lead the Longhorns to their third win in as many games to start the season. Robinson allowed only one run–albeit unearned–in his first varsity start of his young career.
Aaron Blaine continued his hot start, collecting three more hits–two of which were doubles–and four more RBIs. Blaine started the year with 8 straight hits. Opposing pitchers have yet to get him out–Blaine reached first in his last at bat on Wednesday on an error.
Ben Gramsz scored three times and Robinson collected 3 RBIs on the day.
The Longhorns finish the first week of the season having outscored their opponents 32-1. They have allowed only six hits and one run–unearned–in three games. LW pitchers have amassed 32 strikeouts in only 17 innings of work to start the season.
LW’s next game is Tuesday at Beachwood.
