Lutheran West finished the year with a strong performance as they controlled the line of scrimmage on both sides of the ball to knock of the visiting Trinity Trojans 23-7 on Senior Night in Rocky River. West finishes the year with a record of 7-3, their best record since 2009. Jonathon Bradley led the team with 149 yards on 29 carries while Eddie Lewis chipped in 105 yards on 13 carries.
West out-gained the Trojans 257-16 on the ground as they dominated the line of scrimmage all game. Trinity’s only scoring drive of the game came on a 92-yard drive that contained 29 yards of penalty yardage and two big pass plays of 49 and 20 yards each. Trinity’s two runs on the drive netted -6 yards.
Bradley finishes the year with 867 yards rushing on 149 carries and 7 TDs. Lewis gained 786 yards on the ground over 106 carries and 9 TDs. Austin Kim was 65-163 passing for 751 yards and 4 TDs. West had three receivers with almost identical numbers as Isaiah Parker (14-182), Luke Sword (15-185, 2TDs) and Lewis (15-182 TDs) all were involved heavily in the passing game.
Defensively, David Busch (60), Lewis (59), and Michael Reddick (58) were the leaders in terms of tackles. Sword led the team with 7 interceptions. Tyler Seagro had a ridiculous 25 of his 50 tackles for loss including a team high 7 sacks (1 for safety). Hunter Albers made four field goals in five attempts with a long of 34. Albers was 23 of 26 on extra point attempts.
