Longhorns News · LW Football Overwhelms Richmond Hts, Advanced to 4-1

Lutheran West overwhelmed the undermanned Richmond Height Spartans last night at Alumni Field, 49-6 behind three touchdowns and 142 yards rushing from Jonathon Bradley.

It didn’t take long for LW to exert their will on the Spartans, as they scored a touchdown on their first three possessions of the game. Those three TDs sandwiched a punt return of 60 yards for a touchdown from Eddie Lewis. In total, LW had 8 possessions. Six went for touchdowns, one resulted in a touchdown for Richmond Heights on an 83 yard pick-six off of the arm of Jeremiah Stover who was inserted into the game for one series with LW up 28-6, and one punt with three minutes left in the game.

West had three touchdowns from Bradley, the punt return from Lewis, a passing touchdown from Austin Kim to Luke Sword, a rushing touchdown from Kim, and a 74 yard run for TD from Xavier Burns. Hunter Albers was seven for seven on extra points on the day.

West racked up 23 first downs on the day, accumulating 377 yards of offense.
Richmond Heights on the other hand, managed only four first downs and 89 yards of total offense.

West advances to 2-0 in conference play and 4-1 overall. They will host Berkshire next week for the homecoming game.
